Ulis comes out of Chicago Heights, Illinois and is currently rated as a three-star prospect and the seventh-best player in the state by 247Sports. He is currently listed as 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds by the recruiting site.
Along with Iowa, he also has offers from DePaul, Northern Illinois, and New Mexico among others. He currently has two Crystal Ball predictions for the Hawkeyes.
