D'Angelo Russell of the Ohio State Buckeyes has been named the Week 13 Big Ten Player and Freshman of the Week. He averaged 21.5 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists this week. This is the second time this season that Russell has swept both awards in a single week.
A total of 3 teams from the Big Ten were ranked in the Week 14 AP Poll. These teams were #5 Wisconsin, #19 Maryland, and #30 Ohio State. Indiana and Iowa also received votes.
A huge blow to the Spartans as Javon Bess may be out for the remainder of the season according to Tom Izzo. Bess played in a total of 12 games this season including 22 minutes against Maryland and Nebraska. He has suffered from injury all year, but was perceived by many to be the top incoming freshman for Michigan State this year.

The Hawkeyes had a 2015 visitor on campus for their game against Maryland in the form of Christian Williams. He comes out of Decatur, Illinois and has also received interest from Bradley, Illinois State, and Northern Illinois among others.
The Hoosiers had put out a new offer to an in-state 2018 recruit in the form of Kevin Easley, Jr. He is a 6'6 power forward from Lawrence North. Purdue has also expressed interest in Easley, so this could be an interesting in-state battle over the next few years.
For the second time this season, there is an issue regarding Adam Woodbury and allegedly poking another player's eye. Earlier this season, Woodbury issued an apology for poking Wisconsin's Frank Kaminsky in the eye and it looks like he may have done the same thing against in Iowa's Sunday win over the Terrapins.
ESPN ran on a special on SportsCenter on Sunday morning looking at Michigan's remarkable freshman Austin Hatch. Over the course of his life, Hatch survived two separate plane crashes and had to learn to walk again before joining the Wolverines earlier this fall.
Great news as Devin Davis is warming up for the Hoosiers in their game against Michigan. Davis has missed the entire season due to a preseason injury. He will not play this season regardless, but great to see him out there.
