2022 3-Star Center Kebba Njie Commits to Penn State Basketball

NCAA Basketball: Oral Roberts at Penn State Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Penn State added to their 2022 recruiting class this past weekend when three-star center Kebba Njie announced that he was committing to the school.

Njie is a 6’8” center from Indiana currently ranked by 247Sports as the 20th best center in the 2022 recruiting class and the eighth best prospect from the state of Indiana. While the 247Sports Composite rankings currently list Njie as a four-star prospect, both 247Sports and Rivals individually list him as a three-star recruit. The center chose the Nittany Lions over a number of schools, including Butler and Kansas State.

The center joins a rapidly growing 2022 recruiting class that currently has four commits. First to verbally commit to the program back in June was three-star point guard Kanye Clary. Micah Shrewsberry gained some momentum in August with three-star small forward Evan Mahaffey and three-star combo guard Jameel Brown committing, followed by Njie adding some size in the frontcourt for 2022.

“The coaches kept saying that they have something in special in store for me on the visit and that was true,” Njie told 247Sports. “The visit was great. What made them stand out to me was the balance between individual skill work and team practices. The individual workouts was something I was looking for and they showcased it phenomenally.”

“I’m really excited to get to work with Penn State. I feel beyond blessed to have come as far as I have.”
