Over the weekend, Iowa fans got some exciting news as 2022 prospect Josh Dix announced that he would be committing to the Iowa Hawkeyes. This is great news for head coach Fran McCaffery and his staff.

Dix comes out of Council Bluffs, Iowa and is rated as a three-star prospect and the best player in Iowa for the 2022 cycle by 247Sports. The recruiting site lists him at 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds and identifies him as a rising player in the recruiting cycle. Along with Iowa, he had offers from Colorado State, Drake, Wake Forest, and Wisconsin among others.
He largely fits the mold of Iowa’s recent guards under McCaffery. He can shoot from deep and is more than capable of creating for himself. Dix will need to bulk up more to hold his own in the Big Ten, but the raw skill set is there.
Iowa now has two commitments in its 2022 recruiting class as Dix joins three-star point guard Dasonte Bowen. The class is now ranked 53rd nationally by 247Sports. However, given the early nature of some of Dix’s ratings, expect that to rise.
There’s little debating Dix will arrive with a solid pedigree and be projected to be a solid contributor in the Big Ten moving forward. McCaffery and fans will have to be excited about that moving forward.
