A hometown recruit, Braeden is a native of Minneapolis. He currently plays shooting guard for Park Center High School in Brooklyn Park northwest of downtown Minneapolis. Carrington is unranked in 247Sports and Rivals, but received other offers from Florida, Missouri, and Seton Hall. He is listed at 6-foot-3 and 165 pounds.
Carrington had to recover during his junior season this past year from a partially dislocated tendon on his right wrist, but he still managed to average 18 points for Park Center, including four 30-point performances. He is an especially good three-point shooter.
Carrington had a breakout performance in July playing with Grassroots Sizzle’s AAU program. He received other offers and potential official visits, but quickly committed to Minnesota shortly after his official visit to the Gophers.
