Earlier this month, the Illinois Fighting Illini put out a key offer in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Brad Underwood and his staff decided to offer 2022 prospect Adem Bona.

Bona comes out of Napa, California and is currently rated as a five-star prospect and the second-best player in the State of California by 247Sports. With his ratings, it’s obvious why he’s getting so much attention. Verbal Commits lists him at 6-foot-9 and 225 pounds. Along with Illinois, he also has offers from BYU, Creighton, Kansas, Kentucky, and UCLA among others.
Illinois currently has two commitments in the program’s 2022 recruiting class from four-star Jayden Epps and three-star prospect Reggie Bass. However, fans are hoping to add more to the fold, especially after two straight productive seasons in Champaign. And if Bona can get things rolling on the recruiting trail, perhaps Illinois could be in play for a great 2022 class. However, we will have to wait and see as his recruitment is still very much in the air. Underwood and his staff will have to put in some work.
