Earlier this week, the Penn State Nittany Lions got some exciting news as 2022 prospect Jameel Brown announced his commitment to the program. He is one of the first commitments for new head coach Micah Shrewsberry as he looks to put his mark on Penn State’s roster after taking over.
2022 prospect Jameel Brown has announced a commitment to Penn State. Four-Star prospect. Really liked his game this past summer. Good get for Micah Shrewsberry.

Brown comes out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is rated as a four-star prospect and the second-best player in the state by 247Sports. The recruiting site also lists him at 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds. Along with Penn State, he also had offers from Auburn, Marquette, Minnesota, and Purdue among others.
With this commitment, Penn State now has three prospects in its 2022 recruiting class, which is ranked 16th nationally by 247Sports. The other two commitments are from three-star prospects Kanye Clary and Evan Mahaffey. It figures to be a substantial upgrade from Penn State’s recruiting in the late years of Pat Chambers. Fans will hope it signals the start of a new era.
Shrewsberry and his staff still have their work cut out this offseason, but Nittany Lion fans have to be excited about bringing Brown into the fold.
