Last month, the Minnesota Golden Gophers put out a key offer in the 2022 recruiting cycle to 2022 prospect Desmond Claude. This figures to be a key recruiting cycle for new head coach Ben Johnson and his staff.
"Minnesota Offers Fast Rising 2022 Point Guard Desmond Claude"

6'5 PG Desmond Claude out of St. Thomas More in Connecticut is one of the biggest names in recruiting right now. Minnesota recently offered. @Minnesota247 https://t.co/yIpAvXy5TY
Claude comes out of Oakdale, Connecticut and is currently rated as a three-star prospect and the second-best player in the state by 247Sports. The recruiting site lists him at 6-foot-5 and 190 pounds and he seems to be a player on the rise. Along with Minnesota, he also has offers from schools including Boston College, Bryant, Butler, and California among others.
Minnesota currently has no commitments in its 2022 recruiting class, but don’t expect it to stay that way for too long. Johnson and staff have been really active so far and it seems reasonable to think they’ll try to make a splash there. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see as there’s still plenty of time left ahead in Claude’s recruitment. It should be interesting to watch his recruitment in the coming years.
