Late last month, the Minnesota Golden Gophers put out a key offer in the 2022 recruiting cycle to 2022 prospect Braden Huff. This figures to be a key recruiting cycle for new head coach Ben Johnson and his staff.
Beyond grateful to have received an offer from The University of Minnesota. I’d like to thank Coach Johnson, Coach Kemp, and the rest of the staff for this opportunity. @WolvesILL @JasonOpoka @CoachBenJohnson pic.twitter.com/KCQjn8ZIir

Huff comes out of Carol Stream, Illinois and is currently rated as a four-star prospect and the second-best player in the state by 247Sports. He’s been getting some serious recruiting attention and is listed at 6-foot-9 and 205 pounds by the recruiting site. Along with Minnesota, he also has offers from Creighton, DePaul, Illinois, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and Virginia Tech among others.
Minnesota currently has no commitments in its 2022 recruiting class, but don’t expect it to stay that way for too long. Johnson and staff have been really active so far and it seems reasonable to think they’ll try to make a splash there. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see as there’s still plenty of time left ahead of him. It should be interesting to watch his recruitment in the coming years.
