The Rutgers Scarlet Knights picked up a key three-star recruit Thursday. Braeden Moore announced his official verbal commitment to Rutgers over social media Thursday afternoon.

A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Moore comes from Christ Presbyterian Academy. He is a composite three-star by 247Sports and rates as the No. 7 player in Tennessee and No. 47 prospect at power forward. Moore is listed at 6-foot-8 and 210 pounds and during his junior season he averaged 18.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.1 steals while shooting 37-percent from three-point range, seeing action in 32 games.

Moore hosts an offer sheet that includes 31 total schools. Fellow Big Ten programs that had extended an offer include Nebraska and Wisconsin, while other power-six programs included Auburn, Arkansas, Arizona State, Boston College, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Missouri, Ole Miss, St. John’s, Tennessee, TCU, and West Virginia.

Rutgers was the first power-five program to offer Moore and did so back in October 2020. Moore committed to Rutgers following official visits last month to just Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Rutgers in that order. From all early reporting, he seems to be a good fit for Pikiell’s program.
