Last month, the Purdue Boilermakers put out a key offer in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Matt Painter and his staff decided to offer 2023 prospect Owen Freeman.
After a great visit with Coach Painter and the coaching staff, I am blessed to say that I have received an offer from Purdue University! #goboilermakers @CoachPainter @CoachPaulLusk pic.twitter.com/0gLcc12KiP— Owen Freeman (@_OwenFreeman) June 7, 2021
Freeman comes out of Bradley, Illinois and is largely unrated by the national scouting services. However, he is attracting some serious midwestern attention and is listed at 6-foot-9 and 220 pounds by 247Sports. Along with Purdue, he also has offers from Butler, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Marquette, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Wisconsin among others.
Purdue currently has one commitment in its 2023 recruiting class from guard Myles Colvin, who is currently unrated. However, fans will hope the Boilermakers can add to that in the months to come with a commitment from Freeman after solid success in 2021 and 2022. However, we will have to wait and see as it’s still very much in the air. He currently has no Crystal Ball selections on 247Sports.
