Late last month, the Illinois Fighting Illini put out a key offer in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Brad Underwood and his staff decided to offer 2022 prospect Denzel Aberdeen.

Aberdeen comes out of Orlando, Florida and is rated as a three-star prospect and the 26th best player in the State of Florida by 247Sports. The recruiting site lists him at 6-foot-4 and 175 pounds and he seems to be a player on the rise. Along with Illinois, he also has offers from schools including Cincinnati, FIU, Florida Atlantic, and Louisiana among others.
Illinois currently has two commitments in the program’s 2022 recruiting class from four-star Sencire Harris and three-star prospect Reggie Bass. However, fans are hoping to add more to the fold, especially after two straight productive seasons in Champaign. And if Aberdeen can get things rolling on the recruiting trail, perhaps Illinois could be in play for a great 2022 class. However, we will have to wait and see as his recruitment is still very much in the air. Underwood and his staff will have to put in some work.
