Earlier this month, the Ohio State Buckeyes put out a key offer in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Chris Holtmann and his staff decided to offer 2023 prospect Lawrent Rice
Very blessed and grateful to receive an offer from The Ohio State University ❤️!! #GoBucks pic.twitter.com/RpMV70iwvA— Lawrent (@LawrentRice) June 8, 2021
Rice comes out of Dayton, Ohio and is currently rated as a three-star prospect and the third-best player in the state by 247Sports. The recruiting site also lists him at 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds and identifies him as one of the rising players on the 2023 cycle. Along with Ohio State, he also has offers from schools including Kansas State, Louisville, Penn State, Purdue, and West Virginia among others.
Ohio State currently has no commitments in the program’s 2023 recruiting class, though that isn’t surprising given the timeline of most 2023 recruits. But fans will hope the Buckeyes can get things started with a commitment from Rice. However, we will have to wait and see as it’s still very much in the air. He currently has no Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports.
