Earlier this month, the Minnesota Golden Gophers put out a key offer in the 2023 recruiting cycle to 2023 prospect Elmarko Jackson. This figures to be a key recruiting cycle for new head coach Ben Johnson and his staff.

Jackson comes out of Richland, New Jersey and is currently unranked as a prospect by 247Sports. However, the recruiting site lists him at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds and he appears to be one of the rising players in the cycle. Along with Minnesota, he also has offers from California, Maryland, Penn State, and Seton Hall among others.
Minnesota currently has no commitments in its 2023 recruiting class, but don’t expect it to stay that way for too long. Johnson and staff have been really active so far and it seems reasonable to think they’ll try to make a splash there. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see as there’s still plenty of time left ahead of him. It should be interesting to watch his recruitment in the coming years.
