Among those invited to the 2021 NBA Draft Combine includes five Big Ten players in the overall list of 69 draft prospects invited. Of the 63 college basketball players attending, 13 programs have multiple players on the list, including Iowa who saw two Hawkeyes invited.
The full list of Big Ten players participating includes:
Illinois
- Ayo Dosunmu
Iowa
- Luka Garza
- Joe Wieskamp
Michigan
- Isaiah Livers
Michigan State
- Aaron Henry
Oddly, Michigan’s Franz Wagner did not receive an invite despite being widely projected as a first-round prospect in most NBA Draft models. Among the players who did receive invites, Dosumnu, Henry, and Livers are all also projected to hear their names called in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Last year saw four Big Ten players drafted in the 2020 NBA Draft after 11 players received invites to the draft combine. Many of those who were invited opted to return for another season, however. Six Big Ten players were selected in the 2019 NBA Draft as well
Dosunmu and Garza were both selected in coaches and media polls as 2020-21 Big Ten First Team honorees, while Garza garnered Player of the Year honors in each poll. Wieskamp and Livers both earned Second-Team honors in each, while Henry received Third-Team honors along with being selected to the coaches All-Defensive team.
