Earlier this week, Iowa fans got some exciting news as 2022 prospect Dasonte Bowen announced that he would be committing to the Iowa Hawkeyes. This is great news for head coach Fran McCaffery and his staff.
BREAKING: Iowa lands its top target in the 2022 class as four-star point guard Dasonte Bowen announces he has committed to Fran McCaffery and the #Hawkeyes. Bowen is the highest rated point guard in the Fran McCaffery era.

Bowen comes out of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire and is currently rated as a three-star prospect and the third-best player in the state by 247Sports. He is currently listed as 6-foot-3 and 165 pounds by the recruiting site. Along with Iowa, he had offers from Brown, Boston College, Maryland, and Northwestern among others.
Iowa now has one commitment in its 2022 recruiting class with Bowen’s commitment, but don’t expect things to stay that way for too long. The Hawkeyes have some real openings in the class and fans will hope Bowen is just the first piece to fall. Of course, there’s still a long way to go.
There’s little debating that Bowen will arrive with a solid pedigree and be projected to be a solid contributor in the Big Ten moving forward. McCaffery and fans will have to be excited about that moving forward.
