Earlier this week, the Penn State Nittany Lions got some exciting news as JUCO transfer forward Jevonnie Scott announced his commitment to the program. This is an exciting development as new head coach Micah Shrewsberry looks to fill out Penn State’s roster heading into his first season.

Scott is listed as 6-foot-7 and 240 pounds by 247Sports and comes out of Toronto, Ontario. Along with Penn State, he also had serious attention from Texas A&M among others. He is currently unrated by 247Sports.
Given the massive roster turnover for Penn State this offseason, it’s difficult to project where Scott could fit in for the Nittany Lions next season. This will be a “new look” team with plenty of new faces. However, given the exit of players like Trent Buttrick, there should be some open minutes on the wing. Expect Scott to be in serious contention for a starting spot there, which should be welcome with returners like Izaiah Brockington and John Harrar.
Shrewsberry and his staff still have their work cut out this offseason, but Nittany Lion fans have to be excited about bringing Scott into the fold.
