Earlier this month, the Illinois Fighting Illini put out a key offer in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Brad Underwood and his staff decided to offer 2022 prospect Jazian Gortman as the program looks to build off another successful season.

Gortman comes out of Columbia, South Carolina and is currently rated as a three-star prospect and the third-best player in the state by by 247Sports. The recruiting site also lists him at 6-foot-1 and 155 pounds. Along with Illinois, he also currently has offers from Appalachian State, Maryland, South Carolina, and Wake Forest among others.
Illinois currently has one commitment in the program’s 2022 recruiting class from three-star prospect Reggie Bass. However, fans will hope Gortman can join the fold and really get things started in the 2022 cycle. But we’ll have to wait and see as his recruitment is still very much in the air. Underwood and his staff will have to put in some work.
