This is a weekly column for BTPowerhouse that will cover a variety of Big Ten topics that might not deserve a detailed breakdown, but deserve mention. It will be similar to a news roundup with more thoughts and analysis.

So, let’s jump into our Morning Power Bar.

1. NCAA rule changes coming?

Every offseason we get some quietly important rule changes and it looks like the NCAA could be moving on some in the near future:

The biggest proposed change is a six-foul rule, which would boost a player’s available fouls from five to six. Obviously, this would severely reduce the number of players who foul out. It’s something that’s been debated at length for years. Personally, this seems like something that’s simply more likely to increase intentional fouling than anything else. We’ll have to wait and see what happens, though.

2. Big Ten makes the 2021 Hall of Fame class.

The Hall of Fame recently released its list of new inductees and the Big Ten found itself represented, including Michigan star Chris Webber:

Congratulations to all the inductees. It’s certainly quite an honor.

3. Jeff Goodman releases his preseason top 25

As transfer season begins winding down, we’ve officially reached the heart of the offseason and that means many publications are releasing their top 25 rankings. Jeff Goodman did just that in recent days.

And the Big Ten landed in the following spots:

It’s wild to see the Boilermakers that highly rated, but with so many key pieces coming back this season, Purdue could be a great squad. Goodman is certainly higher on Purdue than many others. We’ll have to wait and see how it all shakes out.
