After putting together an impressive season, the Purdue Boilermakers have earned their spot in the 2021 NCAA Tournament and March Madness. The team has been slotted as a four seed in the South Region.
Purdue will open up NCAA Tournament play this weekend against North Texas. It figures to be a pretty manageable matchup. However, things figure to get significantly tougher afterward with Villanova or Winthrop waiting in the Round of 32. Other notable teams in the region include Baylor, Arkansas, and Ohio State.
The Boilermakers were relatively inconsistent this season, but the team finished well and solidly represented the “second tier” of the Big Ten. And against a more manageable slate, Purdue has a lot of potential to do damage this week. It should be interesting to follow.
BTPowerhouse will have plenty to follow on this and all of the Big Ten teams in the NCAA Tournament in the days ahead.
