After putting together an impressive season, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights have earned their spot in the 2021 NCAA Tournament and March Madness. The team has been slotted as a seven seed in the Midwest Region.
Rutgers will open up NCAA Tournament this weekend against Clemson. It figures to be a challenging matchup. The Tigers went 16-7 overall and are currently ranked 42nd nationally on KenPom. Should the Scarlet Knights make it past Clemson, the team would be looking at another challenging game against either Houston or Cleveland State. Other notable teams in the region include Illinois, West Virginia, and Oklahoma State.
This is a monumental moment for Scarlet Knight fans and Rutgers’ program. After a 30-year drought, the team is finally in the Big Dance. Whatever the result, this is a great step in the right direction.
BTPowerhouse will have plenty to follow on this and all of the Big Ten teams in the NCAA Tournament in the days ahead.
