Three Big Ten Teams In The Top Five of Week 14 Polls

See where the Big Ten landed in the latest rankings.

The AP and USA Today Coaches’ polls released earlier this week for Week 14 of the season and five Big Ten teams were fortunate enough to make the cut. It’s an impressive achievement for the league and that’s not even to mention Purdue, who narrowly missed the cut for the top 25.

Here is where the Big Ten landed:

Week 14 AP Poll:

  • No. 3 - Michigan
  • No. 4 - Ohio State
  • No. 5 - Illinois
  • No. 9 - Iowa
  • No. 23 - Wisconsin
  • Receiving Votes: Purdue

Week 14 USA Today Coaches’ Poll

  • No. 3 - Michigan
  • No. 4 - Illinois
  • No. 5 - Ohio State
  • No. 12 - Iowa
  • No. 24 - Wisconsin
  • Receiving Votes: Purdue

While it’s disappointing to see teams like Wisconsin drop, there’s still a lot to like here. Three teams in the top five and four in the top 10 is an impressive achievement. And that’s not even to mention Wisconsin or Purdue, who’s receiving votes. The league remains stacked.

Perhaps the most intriguing question moving forward will be how high teams like Michigan and Ohio State can climb in the rankings. It seems unlike Gonzaga or Baylor will drop soon, but who knows. And with the Wolverines and Hawkeyes facing off this week, it seems like something could move. We’ll have to wait and see.
