Earlier this month, the Nebraska Cornhuskers got some exciting news as the program learned that JUCO center Blaise Keita would be committing to the program. The exciting development came as the Huskers hope to make progress with head coach Fred Hoiberg moving forward.
"I decided to commit today because they showed me it was a great situation there. I chose Nebraska because I will have opportunities to play. I love Fred (Hoiberg) and Matt (Abdelmassih), and they recruited the hardest.” - @Blaisekeita15https://t.co/2H5ljUlGNA

Keita is listed at 6-foot-11 and 230 pounds by 247Sports and is viewed as one of the best JUCO prospects in the 2022 recruiting class. He comes out of Wichita, Kansas and currently plays at Coffeyville Community College. Along with Nebraska, other programs strongly pursuing Keita include Arizona State, Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Tennessee among others.
He’s the first pickup in Nebraska’s 2022 recruiting class, but it’s unlikely things stay that way too long. Expect Hoiberg and his staff to be active on the recruiting trail. He’s done a great job of finding under the radar players in the past. We’ll have to wait and see what kind of mark Keita can make in Lincoln.
