Over the last few days, the Ohio State Buckeyes got some great news as 2022 prospect Brice Sensabaugh announced his commitment to the program. He joins what has been a monster recruiting cycle for Chris Holtmann and his staff so far.

Sensabaugh comes out of Orlando, Florida and appears to be one of the rising prospects in the 2022 class, ranked as a four-star prospect and a top 75 player nationally by 247Sports. The recruiting site lists him at 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds. Along with Ohio State, he also has offers from schools including Alabama, Cincinnati, Florida, and Georgia Tech among others.

While evaluations are currently a bit loopy with the COVID-19 limitations, Sensabaugh has a nice handle and the ability to elevate over defenders on the offensive end. He also has a good sense of playing in the lane defensively and some shot blocking ability. He will need to quicken up his release to succeed as a shooter at the next level, but is pretty big and should be equipped for the physicality of the Big Ten.

Ohio State now has five commitments in the program’s 2022 recruiting class, which is ranked second nationally by 247Sports. Four of the commitments rank in the top 75, led by point guard Bruce Thornton. It’s arguably the best recruiting effort for the program since Thad Matta was in Columbus. Fans will hope that energy continues moving forward.
