The Big Ten released its weekly award winners for week nine of the regular season and two teams split the awards. Michigan’s Isaiah Livers was named Big Ten Player of the Week and Purdue’s Jaden Ivey was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week.

Livers put up quite a performance this week. The senior wing averaged 21.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game in Michigan’s double-digit wins over Maryland and Purdue. He led the Wolverines in scoring in both games and has scored 20 points or more in four games this season. This is the first time he’s earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors in his career.

Meanwhile, Ivey also made a mark for the Boilermakers, averaging 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in Purdue’s split against Ohio State and Michigan. Notably, he made the three-pointer that pushed Purdue ahead over the Buckeyes to one of the team’s most impressive wins of the season. This is the first time he’s earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors in his career.

Congratulations are in order for both players. Don’t be surprised if these two show back up on this list given how they have played to date.
