Earlier this week, the Maryland Terrapins got some tough news as the program learned guard Darryl Morsell will miss the next one to two weeks after undergoing surgery for a fractured facial bone. Morsell has been one of Maryland’s most productive players this season.

During this season, Morsell is averaging 7.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He’s also had a few noteworthy performances already this season, including 36 minutes in the team’s win over Wisconsin and double-digit scoring in the team’s first three games to open the season.
The Terps will now likely have to rely more on players like Hakim Hart, Aquan Smart, and Aaron Wiggins until Morsell returns. Unfortunately, this does come at a tough time as Maryland is set to face three straight top 25 KenPom teams in the next two weeks. Fans will have to hope for the best and a great recovery for Morsell.
