Earlier this week it was announced that top 50 recruit Bryce Hopkins will meet virtually with Illinois head coach Brad Underwood at some point this week as he works on deciding where he’ll play in 2021.

Hopkins is also set to virtually visit with Oregon head coach Dana Altman. Hopkins will be deciding from nine schools, also including Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Iowa State, Texas, California and Providence.
The 6’7” forward is ranked by 247Sports as the 39th best recruit in the 2021 recruiting class, the 10th best power forward and second best Illinois recruit. He would be a big addition to a 2021 Illinois class that currently only has one commit, four star guard/forward Luke Goode.
While Hopkins would be a huge in-state pick up for Underwood and the Illini, it should be mentioned that currently 247Sports is predicting he’ll end up at Kentucky. Hopkins originally was supposed to narrow down his list to five schools but changed his mind and decided to keep the list at nine.
Change of plans...too many great schools. #top9
