Earlier this month, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights put out a key offer in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Steve Pikiell and his staff decided to offer 2022 prospect Darren Buchanan.
After a great conversation with coach Pikiell and the rest of the coaching staff, I am beyond blessed to say that I’ve earned an offer from Rutgers University ❤️ LLMB #GoScarletKnights⚔️ pic.twitter.com/jwxPGDOkIS

Buchanan comes out of Washington, DC and is largely unheralded by the scouting services. Rivals lists him at 6-foot-7 and 225 pounds and seems to be a player starting to draw more high-major interest. Along with Rutgers, he also has offers from Akron, Bryant, George Washington, North Texas, and Rhode Island among others.
Rutgers currently has no commitments in its 2022 recruiting class. As such, fans will be hoping Buchanan will change that with a commitment in the coming months. This is particularly true given the program’s recent success and upward trend on the recruiting trail over the last few years. Of course, we will have to wait and see if that ends up happening as much about Buchanan’s recruitment is still up in the air.
