The 2022 recruitment wars are picking up for schools across the country despite the challenges of COVID-19. Michigan State made the first big splash in late June by nabbing the top player in the class, Emoni Bates, but programs throughout the Big Ten are sending out offers and mapping its 2022 strategy.

One top, emerging player that is getting more Big Ten attention is top-70 forward Isaac Traudt. The 6-foot-9 big man from Grand Island, Nebraska is a lanky and skilled player that runs the floor, and can handle and shoot the basketball well for a player of his height and age. Take a look at a short clip of Traudt’s talents below.

Despite the lack of campus visits, Traudt’s recruitment has blown up during the month of July after some great AAU performances in the Jammin’ in July Showcase in Ames, Iowa. After a 32-point six rebound performance in the Showcase’s championship game, the offers started rolling in.

Building on offers from Creighton, Nebraska, and Kansas State, Traudt received eight additional high-major offers from Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Iowa State, Stanford, Missouri, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Minnesota in one week alone.

Traudt is still receiving interest from schools such as Clemson, Purdue, Colorado, Marquette, and Oregon.

Traudt is understandably taking some time to think through the rapid changes to his recruitment but expect many Big Ten programs, including his home state Cornhuskers, to be in hot pursuit. He’ll have plenty of other options too. This is one recruitment to keep an eye on.
