On Tuesday, the Michigan State Spartans got some exciting news as elite 2022 prospect Enoch Boakye announced that he would be committing to the program. He is the third major pickup for Tom Izzo and his staff over the last few weeks, as the team also added elite 2022 prospect Emoni Bates and another elite recruit in Max Christie as well.
Years of preparation all comes down to this one moment. @EnochBoakye11 chooses his next step.

Boakye is listed as 6-foot-10 and 240 pounds by 247Sports and comes out of Mississauga, Ontario. He is rated as the top player in the province and the 18th best player in the 2022 recruiting class by 247Sports. Along with Michigan State, he also had offers from Arizona, BYU, and Houston among others.
There’s little debating Boakye is still relatively raw, but there’s clearly upside there. He has plenty of length and has the ability to hit the boards really well. If he can improve on the defensive end and improve his handle, the sky’s the limit.
With Boakye’s commitment, Michigan State’s class is now ranked first nationally and features two top 35 prospects. Bates is the big fish, being ranked as the nation’s top 2022 prospect, but Boakye should turn some heads as well. Obviously, Izzo and his staff have things rolling on the recruiting trail right now.
Izzo and his staff still have their work cut out for the 2022 class, but Spartan fans have to be excited about bringing Boakye into the fold.
