Last week, the Maryland Terrapins got some good news as the program got another quality addition to its 2021 recruiting class in the way of guard Ike Cornish. He joins what is an interesting of incoming prospects for head coach Mark Turgeon.

Cornish comes out of Baltimore, Maryland and is listed at 6-foot-6 and 185 pounds by 247Sports. The recruiting site also rates him as a four-star prospect and the 72nd best player in the 2021 recruiting class. Along with Maryland, he also had offers from DePaul, George Washington, Georgetown, and Rutgers among others.
By any evaluation, this is a big pickup for Mark Turgeon and the Terps. He’s one of the more talented guards in the 2021 recruiting class and should help fill a need once players like Darryl Morsell and Aaron Wiggins become upperclassmen. He is the second member of Maryland’s 2021 recruiting class, joining fellow four-star Julian Reese. The class is currently ranked fifth nationally by 247Sports.
And while no one can be sure how Cornish will progress once he arrives at Maryland, Terp fans should be excited about adding another talented piece to the roster.
