On Monday, the Minnesota Golden Gophers got some exciting news as Utah transfer Both Gach announced he would be committing to the program. Gach should add some depth and experience for a Gopher team experiencing plenty of turnover this offseason.
I would love to give a huge Thank you to all the schools that took the time to recruit me but at this time I’m excited to commit to the University of Minnesota and join coach Pitino and his staff ..... Excited to be back home 〽️ pic.twitter.com/NeIeN2AtQB

Gach is listed as a 6-foot-6 shooting guard and played his fair share of minutes at Utah, averaging 30.4 minutes per game as a sophomore. His efficiency doesn’t jump off the chart, but he did average 10.7 points per game and showed a diverse skill set as one of the best players in the Pac 12 at getting to the free throw line and with a 19.3 assist rate.
From a recruiting standpoint, Gach was a four-star prospect according to 247Sports and a member of the 2018 recruiting class. Generally speaking, it’s hard to say he lived up to that hype on the court, but he certainly wasn’t a bust either. It will be interesting to see if Richard Pitino and his staff can get more out of the talented guard moving forward. He is expected to miss this season due to NCAA transfer rules before having two years of eligibility remaining.
Pitino and his staff still have their work cut out to build the roster moving forward, but Gopher fans have to be excited about bringing Gach into the fold.
