Last week the Minnesota Golden Gophers had another transfer go through the program with sophomore guard Bryan “BJ” Greenlee announcing his intention to transfer.
The 6-foot rising sophomore appeared in 19 games last season averaging 0.3 points, and 0.5 rebounds in 2.6 minutes of play.
Greenlee originally chose Minnesota in 2019 over offers from Iowa, Arkansas State, Boston University and Columbia.
Not much at this time is known why Greenlee decided to leave, but one can speculate around wanting to be closer to home and backcourt minutes likely going to Marcus Carr, incoming four-star recruit Jamal Mashburn Jr., and returning junior Gabe Kalscheur
Greenlee is not the only backcourt transfer from the Minnesota program this offseason. Payton Willis announced in April his intention to transfer to the College of Charleston.
No word yet on a list of schools courting Greenlee’s talents.
