Late last week, the Maryland Terrapins got some good news as the program got another quality addition to its 2021 recruiting class in the way of forward Julian Reese. He joins what is an interesting of incoming prospects for head coach Mark Turgeon.

Reese is ranked the 103rd best player in the country and fifth best player in the state of Maryland according to 247 Sports. pic.twitter.com/hoNV65m5ny
Reese comes out of Owing Hills, Maryland and is rated as a four-star by 247Sports. The site also lists him as a power forward and as a top five in-state prospect for the cycle. Reese is listed at 6-foot-9 and 205 pounds. Along with Maryland, he had offers from George Washington, LSU, Rutgers, and Virginia Tech among others.
By any evaluation, this is a big pickup for Mark Turgeon and the Terps. Reese has the size and skillset to be a really productive player in the Big Ten. And adding a local prospect is always a nice thing for a program. He is the first member of Maryland’s 2021 class. And while no one can be sure how Reese will progress once he arrives at Maryland, Terp fans should be excited about adding another talented piece to the roster.
