Earlier this week, the Nebraska Cornhuskers got some exciting news as 2020 big man Eduardo Andre announced that he would be committing to the program. The exciting development came in a pivotal offseason for the Huskers.

Andre is listed as 6-foot-10 and 220 lbs by 247Sports and comes out of Chandler, Arizona. Along with Nebraska, he also has offers from programs including Boston College, Illinois, and Northwestern among others. The recruiting service rates him as a three-star prospect and as a top 200 player in the 2020 recruiting class.

Given Nebraska’s substantial roster turnover the last two years, it’s hard to evaluate just how Andre fits in. Next year’s team will look much different than last year’s group, and the same could be said about the two years before that. Fred Hoiberg inherited a lot of moving pieces. Still, Andre has the size to play upfront in the Big Ten and should join a much more talented Husker squad this year. If he can settle into a reserve role, it would be a huge boost.

Hoiberg and his staff still have their work cut out for the 2020 class, but Husker fans have to be excited about bringing Andre into the fold.
