It is unclear the motivations for a transfer. Lindo Jr.’s playing time could have factored into his decision. The 6-foot-8 big man appeared in five less games than in his freshman campaign and only reached double-digit minutes in six games all season.
There was some reason to believe that Lindo Jr. could be more in the regular rotation next season with Jalen Smith potentially heading off to the NBA and the Mitchell twins both transferring mid-season.
Things obviously have not worked out that way as Lindo Jr. departs from College Park.
This leaves Maryland with three big men entering next season assuming Smith goes to the NBA - Donta Scott, Joshua Tomaic, and Chol Marial. Maryland is showing interest in Coppin State 7-foot-1 center Brendan Medley-Bacon, but he may need to sit out next year.
It is not clear at this time where Lindo Jr. has his eyes on for his next college basketball destination.
