Joe Wieskamp To Return To Iowa Next Season

Iowa gets back a key weapon for next season.

Iowa’s potential Big Ten title hopes received a nice boost last week with the announcement by Jon Rothstein that junior Joe Wieskamp will return next season.

The 6-foot-6 wing averaged 14 points and six rebounds per game last season as Iowa finished 20-11 on the season and fifth in the Big Ten.

It is welcomed news for the Hawkeyes as Iowa looks poised for a great 2020-’21 season. Fran McCaffrey’s crew is still waiting on word for Luka Garza’s draft status, but most expect him to return as well. With Garza potentially returning and Jordan Bohannon back in the fold, Iowa will likely be preseason top-10 next season. BTPowerhouse’s Thomas Beindit has them at the top of his too early Big Ten power rankings.

Iowa fans got the news they wanted with this one. Big Ten fans should be happy as well. One of the conference’s most talented wings and offensive players is returning for another season.
