Pierre Brooks is a four-state recruit and currently ranked by Rivals as the 113th best recruit in the 2021 class. 247Sports lists the Detroit native as the state’s top recruit, making him a valuable commit for Tom Izzo and company. Brooks also had offers from several Big Ten schools, including Michigan and Illinois.
“What stood out about was the relationship I’ve established with the coach, coaching staff and their (ability) to develop players and get them to the next level,” Brooks said.
The 6’6 wing averaged 23.2 points, 7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game in his junior season of high school. The wing looks to bring some versatility to the Spartans with his ability to get to the rim while also bringing a jump shot to the table.
While Brooks is the first commit for 2021, expect Izzo and Michigan State to hit the recruiting trail hard as they try to round out another impressive recruiting class. Point guard Jaden Akins has been highly speculated as the next focus point for Izzo’s 2021 recruiting class.
