Minnesota guard Marcus Carr announced this week that he will declare for the NBA Draft.
Thankfully for Gopher fans the sophomore will not be signing an agent so he can test the waters while still being able to return to campus next fall. While Carr does mention he plans to go pro, his statement does make it seem like he could head back if he doesn't get the feedback he needs to land in the NBA.
Carr originally transferred to Minnesota from Pitt and averaged 15.4 points and 6.6 assists per game in 2019-20.
While Carr can return, there's a decent chance he will not. That would be problematic as star Daniel Oturu already announced he plans on signing an agent. The Gophers struggled this year and now could be without their two best players next season.
