Earlier this week, the Purdue Boilermakers got some exciting news as 2021 prospect Caleb Furst announced that he would be committing to the program. It was a big pickup for Matt Painter as he worked to build a really talented 2021 class.

Furst comes out of Fort Wayne, Indiana and is currently rated as a four-star prospect and the second-best player in the state by 247Sports. He is currently listed at 6-foot-8 and 215 pounds. Along with his offer from Purdue, Furst also had offers from Butler, California, Michigan State, and Virginia among others. Obviously, he was a highly scouted prospect.
While Furst is only the first commitment in Purdue’s 2021 recruiting class, he joins a talented group of prospects coming into the program over the last few years. The Boilermakers had a top 25 class in 2020 and also added a few interesting prospects in 2019. And Painter and his staff will certainly look to add more in the 2021 recruiting cycle moving forward. Fans have to be pleased with how things seem to be coming together.
There’s no telling what Furst will accomplish in the Big Ten, but this is a significant commitment for the Boilermakers that keeps things heading in the right direction. Painter has proven his worth for Purdue and looks to keep things rolling.
