Five Big Ten Teams Land In Week 14 Polls

See where the Big Ten landed in the latest rankings.

The AP and USA Today Coaches’ polls were released earlier this week for Week 14 of the season and five Big Ten teams were fortunate enough to make the cut. What was arguably even more impressive is that four other teams received votes in the Coaches’ Poll. All told, it was an encouraging performance for the Big Ten.

Here is where the Big Ten landed:

Week 14 AP Poll:

  • No. 9 - Maryland
  • No. 16 - Michigan State
  • No. 17 - Iowa
  • No. 20 - Illinois
  • No. 22 - Penn State
  • Receiving Votes: Ohio State, Rutgers, Michigan

Week 14 USA Today Coaches’ Poll

  • No. 9 - Maryland
  • No. 14 - Michigan State
  • No. 17 - Iowa
  • No. 20 - Penn State
  • No. 21 - Illinois
  • Receiving Votes: Rutgers, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Indiana

While it was disappointing to see Rutgers fall out of the top 25 after its loss to Michigan on Saturday, the Big Ten still remains in great position in the polls. Five teams landed in the top 25 and four others received votes in the polls. And if things go right over the next few weeks, we could see those teams rise up as well. We’ll have to stay tuned.
