The Wisconsin Badgers got some tough news earlier this week as the program learned its Wednesday matchup with the Louisville Cardinals would not be going forward as scheduled. Jon Rothstein and Matt Norlander reported the cancellation was due to COVID-19 protocols.
Confirming @JonRothstein report that Louisville-Wisc is off for Wednesday due to COVID protocols with Louisville. And Wisconsin has already lined up a home game vs. URI on Wednesday as the substitute. The kind of scheduling agility necessary this season. Interesting matchup, too.

This is one of a handful of Big Ten games that have officially been cancelled or postponed just a few weeks into the season. Wisconsin was hoping to score its first marquee win of the season on Wednesday against a dangerous Louisville squad after falling short against Marquette last Friday. The Badgers remain 3-1 overall and eighth nationally on KenPom.
Wisconsin will now purportedly get a week off before facing off against Northern Iowa at home on December 16th. However, as noted in Norlander’s tweet thread above, it seems likely this game will get rescheduled for later this season. Rothstein also reported the following:
Sources: Wisconsin is now finalizing a contract to play Rhode Island on Wednesday in Madison. https://t.co/LPd4aiZXEl
