Late last month, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights put out a key offer in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Steve Pikiell and his staff decided to offer 2022 prospect Matt Curtis.

Curtis comes out of Ellington, Connecticut and is largely unheralded by the scouting services. Verbal Commits lists him at 6-foot-3 and New England Recruiting Report rates him as the fourth-best player in the state and a top 15 player in the region. Along with Rutgers, he also has offers from Bryant, Fairfield, Hartford, and UMass among others.
Rutgers currently has no commitments in its 2022 recruiting class. As such, fans are hoping Curtis will change that with a commitment in the coming months. This is particularly true given the program’s recent success and upward trend on the recruiting trail over the last few years. Of course, we will have to wait and see if that ends up happening as much about Curtis’ recruitment is still up in the air.
