Earlier this month, the Illinois Fighting Illini put out a key offer in the 2021 recruiting cycle. Brad Underwood and his staff decided to offer 2021 prospect Brandin Podziemski.
2021 6-6 SG Brandin Podziemski @brandinpodziem2 of @SJNAHoops has added an offer from HC Brad Underwood AC Ron Coleman and the University of Illinois @IlliniMBB this evening @ny2lasports @WisBBYearbook @ebosshoops @jakeweingarten @PaulBiancardi @CoachDavidSisk @rodgerbohn— Phenom University (@PhenomUniverse) December 16, 2020
Podziemski comes out of Delafield, Wisconsin and is rated as a four-star prospect and the third-best player in the state by 247Sports. The recruiting site also lists him at 6-foot-5 and 195 pounds. Along with Illinois, he also currently has offers from Arizona State, Boise State, DePaul, Kansas, and Kentucky among others.
Illinois currently has one commitment in the program’s 2021 recruiting class from four-star Luke Goode. Fans are hoping Podziemski can keep the program’s momentum going on the recruiting trail after a productive 2019-’20 season and encouraging results so far this year. And if Podziemski can get things rolling on the recruiting trail, perhaps Illinois could be in play for a great 2021 class. However, we will have to wait and see as his recruitment is still very much in the air. Underwood and his staff will have to put in some work.
