Earlier this week, Indiana fans got some exciting news as Tennessee-Martin graduate transfer Parker Stewart committed to the Indiana Hoosiers. This is certainly exciting news for Archie Miller and his staff.

Stewart is the son of former Tennessee-Martin coach Anthony Stewart, who tragically passed away before this season. No one knew whether Stewart would play this season, but he entered the transfer portal in November and ultimately decided on Indiana. He will now be eligible to play for the Hoosiers in the second semester.

As a player, Stewart has plenty to offer Indiana. He averaged 19.2 points and 3.8 assists per game last year and formerly played for Pittsburgh, where he averaged 9.1 points before transferring to play with his father. Stewart is listed at 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds and should be able to give Indiana a nice boost in the backcourt.

Who knows what Stewart will end up doing in Bloomington, but fans have to be excited about bringing in more depth this year. We’ll have to stay tuned and see how things go.
