The 2020 NBA Draft took place on Wednesday night and Xavier Tillman of the Michigan State Spartans was fortunate enough to hear his name called. He was selected at No. 35 by the Sacramento Kings and subsequently traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Tillman played three seasons with the Spartans and left quite a mark. He was part of a Final Four run early in his career and averaged an impressive 13.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game in his final season with the program when Michigan State won another Big Ten regular season title. Tillman does a lot of the little things you like to see from a big man, such as setting picks, rebounding, and passing out of the post.
There was some debate about whether Tillman should return to campus, but it certainly seems like he made the right decision with this news. Fans have to be excited about what’s to come for Tillman.
