Jalen Smith Taken No. 10 By The Phoenix Suns

The 2020 NBA Draft took place on Wednesday night and Jalen Smith of the Maryland Terrapins was fortunate enough to hear his name called. He was selected at No. 10 by the Phoenix Suns and will now head to Arizona.

Smith played two seasons with the Terps and left quite a mark. He averaged 15.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in his final season with the program, when Maryland won its first ever Big Ten title. He’s really a force down low and should be able to protect the rim and do work on the boards at the next level. Meanwhile, he will hope to continue his progress from outside the arc in the years ahead.

Smith had quite a bit of hype as a freshman, but returned to campus for his sophomore year and it certainly looks like things worked out now that he found his way into this year’s NBA Draft. Fans have to be excited about what’s to come for Smith.
