Earlier this month, the Maryland Terrapins put out a key offer in the 2021 recruiting cycle. Mark Turgeon and his staff decided to offer 2021 prospect Mustapha Amzil.

Amzil comes out of Kotka, Finland and is largely unrated by the scouting services. Verbal Commits lists him at 6-foot-10 and 215 pounds, which would imply he has the size and stature to play at the Big Ten level. He averaged 10.3 points and 8.1 rebounds in Finland’s 1st Division (A) last season. Amzil also has an offer from Dayton.
Maryland currently has two commitments in its 2021 recruiting class from four-stars Ike Cornish and Julian Reese. The class is ranked 18th nationally and fans hope Amzil can bump things up even further. One would expect the Terps will be in the battle for his commitment in the months to come. He could help provide further stability in an uncertain position group in the years to come.
