The Indiana Hoosiers and fans got some exciting news earlier this month as the program announced that Jerome Hunter was fully participating in all basketball activities. Of course, as fans are well aware, he missed last season with injury.

Hunter initially arrived on campus with high expectations. He was one of the highest rated recruits out of the midwest in the 2018 recruiting class and was targeted by just about every Big Ten power. Many thought he could compete for a starting slot in year one. However, he ended up missing the season due to injury.
It might seem hyperbolic to get overly excited about the potential return of a player who has yet to do anything meaningful for the Hoosiers, but it’s warranted here. Hunter has tremendously high upside and is a great shooter, something Indiana’s roster has desperately needed the last few years. If he can come in and stretch defenses, it would mean quite a lot for this team’s long-term potential.
We don’t yet know whether Hunter will be able to make it into the starting lineup, but fans have to be excited about the fact that he’s at least participating in team activities. And who knows, in a month or two, we might get to see him on the court.
