Earlier this week, the Wisconsin Badgers got some exciting news as 2020 prospect Ben Carlson announced that he would be committing to the program. Carlson joins what is already becoming a pretty deep and talented 2020 recruiting class for the Badgers.
I’m excited, honored and humbled to announce that I will be continuing my academic and basketball career at the University of Wisconsin. I want to thank everyone involved in this process, especially my family for all the support they’ve given me. #OnWisconsin pic.twitter.com/WEPdWxoVRy

Carlson is listed as 6-foot-9 and 205 pounds by 247Sports and comes out of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Along with Wisconsin, he also had offers from programs including Iowa State, Purdue, and Stanford among others. He is rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports and the 247Composite, and as the fourth-best player in the state.
As mentioned, Carlson joins what is already a pretty deep 2020 class for Wisconsin. The program now has five commitments for the cycle and the class is now ranked 5th nationally by 247Sports. Carlson is the highest rated of the group, so it’s easy to see why fans are so excited about the class. There’s little debating that Carlson will hope to be the next in a long line of productive big men for the Badgers.
Greg Gard and his staff likely aren’t done yet in the 2020 class, but Badger fans have to be excited about where things sit at the moment.
